With a focus on minimal intervention, the wines from Hazendal Wine Estate showcase the unique expression of the terroir of the Bottelray Hills in Stellenbosch, producing exceptional wines.
Each vintage is unique and studied for its individual qualities and impact on the vines. Grapes are hand-harvested and the wines are crafted to accurately showcase the terroir in which they are grown. The purity of fruit is highlighted whilst preserving the integrity of the wine.
winemaking philosophy
Hazendal Wine Estate is delighted to embark on a new agricultural journey, which involves planting new varieties that are in consideration of the environment, planting the right vines on the correct sites, as well as planting varieties that are drought resistant. The Estate is looking forward to making use of good viticultural design, planting practices and the conversion from conventional farming practices towards a future of organic farming.
